It is with great pride we decided to open Fantastic Finds on April Fool's day 2009. Jody and I have been friends for over 25 years. With the economy being on shaky ground and people spending less and needing extra cash, we felt it was the perfect way to give back to the community and have fun doing it. The ultimate goal was to create a win-win situation for everyone.
In February of 2012, I took the store over and Jody decided to work with her fiance at his garage doing administative work. The question is always asked "Are you still friends?" The answer is: Yes. We all come to points in our lives where we are faced with decisions and choices. Situations change and things move on. Life is what happens when we're busy making plans. For that reason, I'm not real good with the planning thing. On the bright side, it makes me very adaptable to change. I have continued to run the store as we always have together with a few changes here and there. From time to time you may see my Mom in the shop helping me out or filling in for me.
I am always open to suggestions on what I can do to improve the shop to make it the best experience for everyone. I want your feedback, good or bad.
At Fantastic Finds, most unsold and unwanted merchandise will be donated to charity. I have teamed up with Pink Hands of Hope, a non-profit foundation supporting breast cancer. I encourage you to drop by and visit their thrift shop located on Trindle Road, in Mechanicsburg. For more information visit www.pinkhandsofhope.org
I want to thank all of you for supporting Fantastic Finds over the last several years. If you are a consignor, a shopper or one of the many people who has passed Fanantastic Finds name on through word of mouth; I extend my greatest thanks. It is because of all of you that Fantastic Finds has been successful in helping our community as well as growing the business.
